Summer Road Trip Part 1

I am finally documenting our very long and crazy summer road trip. So many pictures and so many memories. A whole lot of planning and organization went into this trip, but it was worth it!! It was a blast! We left on July 27th after church (and after saying goodbye to our Wylie house) and hit the road! We were stocked up with snacks, crafts, movies, activities and lots of prayers!!

And within 5 minutes we had our first hiccup. We stopped for gas at the gas station about 2 miles from our house and when Shane went to restart the car, the battery was dead. Crazy!! He found someone to jump start our car and we drove across the street to the auto zone and had a new battery put in. Thank you Jesus that this happened when we were right by an auto zone and not stranded in the middle of nowhere. Really, I felt so thankful for God's protection on this trip!
New battery, back on the road, and the first of many carseat naps was underway.
Plus the first of MANY Oso episodes. I think his love of Oso began on this trip.
We drove through Louisiana and into Mississippi on day one!
We stopped that night in Jackson and were able to eat dinner with Shane's friend Elizabeth. It was so great seeing her!!
The next day we drove through Alabama,
And into Florida for our first family visit with Travis and JJ in Destin!
We hit the pool right away, after all those hours in the car!

The kids were so excited to see their cousins!!

The next day we went to the beach. I could't wait to see Cade in the sand. He was only 4 months old when we came last year.
He loved it!

And so did these two!
He, however, did not love wearing his hat!

Buried in the sand.

Cade was not a fan of this!
The kids had so much fun playing in the sand!

And all three of my boys took beach naps. They were exhausted!!

It was such a fun first day at the beach!!

Love these four!!

That night we headed back to the beach for some family pictures with JJ's photographer friend.

Cuties!! (These aren't the professional pictures, just a few I snapped with my phone that night...ha!)
