Cade 6 months

My baby is 6 months old! Did I really just type that?!? I can't believe that he is half way through his first year!
Cade had is 6 month appt on Monday and weighed 18lbs 3oz (50-75%) and was 27 3/4in long (90%). He's slowed down a little on his weight gain. He'd been sick for the past two weeks (RSV) and not eating as much as he usually does, so that's probably partly to blame. We decided to hold off on his vaccines for another week since he was finally starting to feel better from being sick. Poor guy. His vaccines wiped him out last time, so I just wanted to give him a little break before we make him feel yucky again.
This is what he does when I try to get him to sit up...leans way over till he falls. I think it's going to be a while before he's sitting up on his own.
We started solids this week. Baby oatmeal. He didn't quite know what to think of it.
What is this stuff mom?
He got the hang of it after a couple of nights and actually seems to really like it. He even opens his mouth when he sees the spoon coming now.
He tries to grab the spoon out of our hands the whole time he's eating.
At 6 months Cade:
-is such a busy baby. He's nosy and wants to be a part of everything that's going on.
-loves playing with my hair when I hold him, SO sweet!
-grabs anything and everything that he can. If he can reach it, he will try to grab it...and then put it straight into his mouth. He's also started grabbing our faces when were holding him, I love it!
-loves to spit and blow raspberries and thinks it's hilarious when we do it back to him.
-is starting to make the cutest little "lala" noise with his tongue.
-is starting to scoot a little when we put him on the floor. He spins himself around on his tummy and can scoot forward a little bit.
-is wearing size 3 diapers and 6-12 month clothes. He can still fit into some of his 3-6 month clothes too.
-is still toothless. I keep thinking the bottom two are going to pop through, but still nothing. Thank goodness, I'm not looking forward to nursing a teething baby!
-is finally starting to have somewhat of a nap schedule. He usually will take a good morning nap, like 2 hours (in his swing) and at least one, sometimes two afternoon naps. They're usually only like 30 or 45 min each though. Night time, on the other hand, is all over the place. I usually get him to sleep anywhere between 8:00 and 10:00 and he's usually up again around midnight to eat. Then he usually stays in bed with me the rest of the night and eats a couple more times. He's been really fussy during the night the past couple of weeks (from the RSV) and has been waking himself up coughing a lot. He's better for the most part, except for that nighttime cough that is lingering. He also has rolled onto his tummy a couple of times in his sleep. So cute!
I wish I would have sent this Bumbo back when they had the recall for the straps. He can just about arch himself out of it. I'm telling you, he is going to be into everything when he starts crawling. SO busy!
He loves his brother and sister. They keep him entertained. He loves to watch them when they're running around and being crazy. And they love to make him laugh!
Happy 6 months my sweet happy boy!

First trip to the dentist

Well this was actually Carson's second trip due to a tooth injury last year...but he loved it all the same!!

She thought she was something else with those sunglasses on sitting in the big chair! Cutie!!

The kids loved the pediatric dentist..but we won't be going back there. It's a long story but basically they told me Avery had 5 cavities that all needed to be fixed on 3 separate visits. After a second opinion from my sweet friend's dad, things were not as bad as the first dentist said, and we are all good for now!! Thank goodness!!

Cade's first fireworks!

Catching up today!
We took the kids to watch fireworks in Richardson on the 4th. They loved it! Fireworks in our pj's with milkshakes! What could be better?

Tired boy! He was a trooper for his first firework show!

Hibachi Night

Our family loves Hibachi (Or hachi-bachi as the kids call it)! We've taken the kids a few times, and it's so much fun! So one night Shane decided to do a Hibachi night with the kids at home!
Such a good daddy!
Then Carson wanted to play "hachi-bachi" with his play-doh the rest of the week!
He's pretending to flip the broccoli into someone's mouth like they do at the Hibachi place. So cute!

Cade 5 months

This happy boy was 5 months old on 7/23.

He didn't want to sit still long for his 5 month picture.
Starting to tri-pod a little.
At 5 months Cade:
-is wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6-12 month too.
-wearing size 3 diapers
-loves to spit and blow "raspberries" at us with his lips
-is rolling from back to front, almost immediately when you lay him on his back. Which has made diaper changing fun these day. I'm already having to wrestle him to get his diaper changed. (He rolled from back to front for the first time on 7/2)
-still not doing great with the bottle. He'll take it reluctantly, after much protest.
-is doing much better in his carseat. He will actually nap pretty well now if I time it right.
-is still only sleeping till about midnight or 1:00 before waking up to eat. It's going to be a while before this boy is sleeping through the night. And it's all my fault :) I've created a little monster. A co-sleeping, cat-napping, baby-wearing, mama-loving little monster...but gosh he's cute...and honestly i wouldn't change any of it. He may be ruined, but he's my last (according to Shane that is) and I'm soaking it up.
Like I said, he's a little cat napper, usually only 30-45 min at a time. He usually sleeps in his swing, or the porch swing,
or the baby swing at Kiki's house. Apparently the boy likes to swing!
He still loves the Ergo, and usually falls asleep in it. I'm so thankful he likes baby wearing because it's sometimes the only way I can get things done at my house.
Cade's newest fascination is his feet.
He discovered them a few weeks ago
And now he grabs them immediately when you lay him down.
He even discovered that he can put his toes in his mouth. So cute!!
He still randomly sucks his fingers, then all of a sudden he discovered his thumb. He's only done this once, so I think it was just a fluke.
And he loves sticking his tongue out now too!
I think his eyes are definitely going to be blue and his hair blonde. So different from Carson and Avery.

Cade's favorite toy is this chain of rings. He loves to grab and chew on them. I think he may be getting a tooth before too long.
He still loves his jumper, for short little spurts
I just love all of his little expressions!
He likes to hold onto this bar, it looks like he's trying to drive.
He smiles just like Avery did...mouth wide open!
Happy 5 months sweet boy!
