What an amazing day September 29th was for us. I went into the OR at about 5:30. We were delayed getting started because my blood pressure was so high when they took me back. It was 178/120 right before the c-section was supposed to start. They gave me some BP medication and a little sedation to relax me. It came down to a more reasonable number and they were able to give me the epidural and get started. The extra time I spent back there was really a blessing because it gave Shane some time to relax a few minutes before they brought him back. Everything was so rushed and he was nervous and a little pale. But by the time he got to the OR he was fine. He did great, no passing out!! And a few minutes later Avery Elizabeth was born at 6:05 weighing 6lbs. and Carson Alan was born at 6:07 weighing 5lbs 10oz. They were both 18.5in. They both came out screaming. It was the most beautiful noise! Let me tell you, there is nothing like hearing your baby cry for the first time. It was so amazing! I spent the first night and part of the next day in labor and delivery because they had to start magnesium for my blood pressure. That first night was rough, they had to wake me up every hour to check my BP, plus the magnesium makes you feel awful. I went up to postpartum on Wed. and was feeling much better. The next couple of days in the hospital were wonderful. It was just such an awesome time of getting to know my babies and bonding with them. Shane was so great with them from the very start. He's already an amazing daddy. I didn't have to ask him to do anything. He jumped right in there with feeding, diaper changing and baby holding. I really loved my time in the hospital. It was so fun to just be with my new family. All the nurses were great and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Here are some pictures of the delivery.

Oh, how very precious Kelly and Shane! It brought tears to my eyes seeing those little miracles! You're right...there is nothing like it in the whole world! The picture with Carson's arm around Avery is priceless! He will forever take care of her, I'm sure! Hope all is going well at home...I'm sure it is! Hugs!
