7 months

Carson and Avery turned 7 months old yesterday!
Their shirts say "Thing 1" and "Thing 2." So cute!!
At 7 months Carson and Avery:
-Can finally sit up on their own.
-Are on the move. Avery is getting very fast at crawling. Carson is army crawling all over the place.
-Have added pears, avacado, green beans, and carrots to their diet.
-LOVE the dogs. Especially Carson. They smile and laugh when the dogs walk by or try to lick them in the face.
-Have gotten very good at putting their paci's back into their mouths. Avery especially loves her paci. She often steals Carson's paci out of his mouth and puts it right into hers, it's really cute! Little paci thief!
-Love to play together. They roll around together and climb all over each other. It is so fun to watch them play.
Avery is a very active girl!! She doesn't sit still for long, especially now that she's crawling. She is so happy now that she is able to move around and get what she wants. Avery can push up onto her knees, which has helped her be able to empty out a few baskets I keep under the coffee table. She loves to empty out the bib basket. She pushes up on just about anything including her brother. She often uses Carson as leverage to pull herself over or push up. She has started pulling Carson's hair and grabbing his face. She plays a little rough. Avery is eating 4-6oz. five times a day and still 1-2 times at night.
Carson is my sweet boy! He is very tolerant of Avery's rough play, but does let her know when he's had enough. Carson is pushing up on his hands and feet like he wants to bear crawl. He'll push up and lunge foward onto his face, it's so cute. He is trying so hard to crawl, but his arms just keep getting in his way. He's getting pretty close to figuring it out, so I don't think it'll be too much longer. Then life around here is going to get really crazy!! Carson is eating 6oz five times a day and occasionally still getting up to eat once during the night. He sleeps through the night a lot more often now. Yay!! He still gets very excited when he sees his bottle and will grab it and put it into his mouth. He loves to eat!
Sweet babies! Happy 7 months!

And They're Off

Carson and Avery are becoming more and more mobile. Here is a video of them racing for the remote, which is a new favorite toy at our house.
And here is Avery crawling. That's right, she is officially crawling. She was doing the rocking and lunging thing just this past weekend, but started a real crawl on Tuesday April 20th. Not sure if I'm quite ready for this or not.
Guess it's time to baby proof the house!!

Baby Dedication

We were so excited to have Carson and Avery dedicated at church this past Sunday, April 18th.
It was a great day. We were so blessed to have our family and friends present for their dedication. Thank you guys for coming to help celebrate Carson and Avery as we dedicated them to the Lord.
They did great and they each smiled at Pastor Gary while he held them.
Here is Avery being dedicated.
And Carson.
Way to go Carson, no stranger danger today!!
And of course Avery only had on one shoe.... typical Avery. She can get a pair of shoes off within seconds of them being put on her feet.

Grand-D with the babies
"Jesus said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.' And he took the children in his arms, and put his hands on them and belssed them."

Our latest tricks

Carson and Avery have been working very hard on learning lots of new tricks!
Carson is pushing up on his hands and knees.
He's also getting really good at holding his own bottle!
His latest thing is sticking his tongue out.
When you talk to him now, he smiles then sticks his tongue out.
It's so cute!
Avery has been talking so much lately.
A couple of weeks ago she started saying, "buh, buh, buh."
It sounds like she is trying to say bubba.
Of course Shane thinks she is trying to say Dada.
She's also making a lot of "H" sounds, like she's trying to say hi.
Oh, and Avery has a new favorite toy, her bulb suction.
She will make her way across the room just to get it.
Today we had our last Tiny Tots and Tunes class. We've been going to this class on Wednesday mornings at church for the past couple of months and today was the last one. Carson and Avery really seemed to enjoy the class. The first few weeks they didn't have a clue what was going on, but now they smile and play with the instruments and really seem to get excited during the songs. We're going to miss our Tiny Tots class, but look foward to the next session in the fall.
Here's a picture from todays class
It was taken with my phone, so it's a little blurry.
Mmmmm, bells.......tasty!!

First Easter

Carson and Avery had a fun first Easter.
We made our first trip to Houston to visit Grand-D (Shane's mom). We had a great weekend and the weather was beautiful!
Saturday we went to the park and took pictures in the bluebonnets
Cute little bunnies!

The Easter bunny came Sunday morning!
This will probably be the only year we can get away with giving them empty plastic eggs!

We spent Sunday morning with the wonderful people at Simonton Community Church. This was the church that Shane grew up in. It was a great service and fun to see so many friends!
We hope that everyone had a happy Easter, celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

Oh, and we had their 6 month appointment today. Avery was 15lbs. 7oz. (25-50%) and 25.5in. (25-50%). Carson was 17lbs. 6oz (50%) and 26 3/4in. (50-75%) My little peanut is now officially 2 pounds heavier than his twin sister! Big boy!

So Big!!

My babies are getting way too big!!
I was looking at their pictures from the hospital the other day and saw this one
It reminded me of just how tiny they were!
And how big they are now!
It's funny how quickly things change!
Just a few months ago, this was all the play area they needed.
Now our living room has been transformed into babyland!
Though I sometimes miss my tiny little newborns, I'm loving this 6 month age.
They are so fun!
